University of Salamanca and the Welcome Project are preparing in Salamanca a major European event of technological entrepreneurship
Salamanca will host from 9 to 11 of September Startup OLÉ, a major event within the European Commission initiative “Startup Europe”, which will attract entrepreneurs, investors, large international corporations, medias and representatives of the European Commission and the European Fund Investment.
Startup OLÉ is a joint effort of the University of Salamanca and Welcome, a European project linked to the university´s Scientific Park which aims to boost startup phenomenon in Europe and ro connect Salamanca with the main ecosystems of technological entrepreneurs in the continent.
The event will be attended by more than 14 European projects related to technological development, there will be presentations on business with high growth potential and it will feature first level figures such as Gary Stewart (Director of Wayra UK), Oscar Farres (EIF), Rodolfo Carpintier (investment guru) or Ian Lucey (Founder of LuceyFund). There will also be a forum for investors, networking activities, a hackathon, a fair of startup and pitches as well as a workshop organized by the European Agency for SMEs (EASME) to prepare startups in grant applications to the program “Instrument SME H2020 “.
During Startup OLÉ the annual conference of Accelerator Assembly will also be held, AA is the largest network of European accelerators (www.acceleratorassembly.eu/conference-2015); in addition, meetings of Startup Europe University Network and Startup Europe Nations High Level Group, initiatives that seek the formation of synergies between the technological, academic and political fields will also take place.
Corporations such as BBVA, Citi, Telefonica, Freelancer or U-TAD collaborate with the organization of the event, along with the network of European centers of innovative companies (EBN).
