StartupsKilltheVirus is an online event aimed at supporting technology innovators during the COVID-19 crisis taking place on Tuesday 28th April. Organised by Zabala Innovation Consulting along with 15 European Commission initiatives, experts from the European Innovation Council, DG Connect, Startup Europe and the Big Data Value Association will be on hand to offer guidance on how to best pool resources to combat this crisis.

Entrepreneurs and organisations that are seeking funding and other resources put in place to support them during these uncertain times are encouraged to attend the event, which will highlight different initiatives aimed at providing assistance to innovative organisations and individuals.

The first of four sessions which will run from 9.00am – 9.45am will feature the EIC Accelerator, a programme formed by the European Innovation Council (EIC). Luis Sanchez Álvarez, representative of the EIC, will explain what the EIC Accelerator programme is about and Luis Guerra from CDTI will talk about ACCESS2EIC and the role of National Contact Points in supporting SMEs.

The second session (10.00am – 11.00 am) will see Stefano Foglietta, an officer in the Next Generation Unit, along with other panellists, talk about how startups can take advantage of resources offered by various initiatives.

Startup Europe and the future of disruptive technologies like Blockchain will be discussed during the third session with Bogan Ceobeanu from the European Commission’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Unit participating. Additionally, this session will feature the main initiatives that offer support to startups, SMEs and entrepreneurs including X Europe, B-Hub for Europe, BlockStart and BlockIS. This session will run from 11.15am – 12.00pm.

The fourth session will be dedicated to situating SMEs and startups at the forefront of Data economy and physical cyber systems with the opening of the Big Data Value Association and other support programmes and will run from 12.15pm – 1.00pm.
