Startup Europe brings 13 European startups to Web Summit

Web Summit, the biggest tech conference in Europe, takes place in Dublin, November 3rd – 5th and Startup Europe will be there with 13 high potential startups selected from the 5 ecosystems of the Welcome Project (Berlin, Dublin, Madrid, Milan and Salamanca).
6 of these startups are taking part in Welcome’s “EU Roadshow” activity. Having spent 3 weeks at the Mind the Bridge Startup School in Silicon Valley, these startups are visiting 4 countries to meet with investors, partners and potential customers. Web Summit is the second stop on their trip and they have already attended SMAU in Milan. These startups are: Artomatix (Ire), GroupEstate (Ger), Kopjra (Ita), Openback (Ire), Papem (Ita) and Videona (Esp).
The other 7 startups are taking part in Welcome’s “Europass” activity. Each startup selected for a “Europass” place gets to attend 2 top European startup events including Slush, Betapitch, Startup Olé and Codemotion Milan. These startups are: BadSeed (Ita), Box at Work (Ger), Byke (Ita), Miito (Ger), Standard Access (Ire) and Wayook (Esp).
The Welcome Project will organize a Matchmaking Event during Web Summit with the goal of generating a valuable dealflow for all parties involved, leveraging the global scale of Web Summit. Startups will be matched with investors/corporate members for 10-15 min speed dating meetings, designed to generate business opportunities and further discussions.
This will be a major exposure opportunity for the selected startups as Web Summit is the largest tech event in Europe with over 30,000 attendees and speakers including:
⦁ Ed Catmull, President of Pixar
⦁ Mike Krieger, Co-Founder Instagram
⦁ John Collison, Co-Founder Stripe
⦁ Dan Brown, Author
⦁ David Rowan, Author at WIRED
⦁ Benedict Evans, Partner at Andreessen Horowitz
Startup Europe and the Welcome Project will also have a stand at the event where startups and members of the startup community can come to meet our staff and find out more about this initiative.
