Lisbon Startup City forms part of the strategy of the Lisbon municipality to transform the city into a ‘startup’ city. It is an accessible, online information hub for entrepreneurs that informs them of the latest business news within the city. It also has an extensive map detailing all of the incubators, events, Fab Labs, investors, accelerators, etc. that are available in the area. This facilitates and encourages startups as this hub provides all of the relevant information needed to help and support aspiring businesses.

With Startup India, the Government of India in seeking to encourage and empower innovation and startups on a national scale in order to drive sustainable growth and generate employment opportunities. Its Startup Portal is the country’s largest online networking platform for entrepreneurs across a range of industries, and also provides free resources and programmes such as online courses and innovation challenges.

Clusterland Sweden is an organisation that builds and implements digital strategies for cities and regions. With a belief in digitalisation as a way to create sustainable, healthy and prosperous societies, Clusterland Sweden will analyse the current environment, create a digital strategy and implement it.

EUREKA is a publicly-funded, intergovernmental network, involving over 40 countries. EUREKA’s aim is to enhance European competitiveness by fostering innovation-driven entrepreneurship in Europe, among research institutes, universities and industry. By doing this, the potential of experts, knowledge, research facilities and financial resources is concentrated in a more efficient way. Over the last 30 years, EUREKA launched a range of innovative products, processes and services, and has supported the internationalisation of businesses with innovative ideas.

The European Digital City Index (EDCi) describes how well different European cities support digital entrepreneurship. For startups and scaleups, it provides information about the strengths and weaknesses of local ecosystems, allowing them to plan accordingly and consider where they may need to devote more resources. For policymakers aiming to encourage digital entrepreneurship in their own city, the index helps to identify existing and promising hubs of activity, in order to learn from their practices. Additionally, it allows cities to compare themselves with other European hubs and helps identify which policy areas to prioritise.

Startup Europe Comes to Silicon Valley (SEC2SV) brings together key executives, investors and policymakers from the EU entrepreneurial ecosystem and Silicon Valley in engaging meetings and workshops with the goal of forging meaningful, long-term relationships.

Startup Europe Week started in 2016 as a way of celebrating entrepreneurship while recognising Europe’s regional diversity and the effect local policymaking has on startups in different parts of Europe. During the week, a range of events are organised from talks with entrepreneurs to workshops and information sessions, all of which are relevant to local realities.

Soft-Landing connects startup ecosystems by facilitating exchanges between ecosystem builders, thus building knowledge on the startup scenes in the EU, US and India and creating strong networks.
