Fintech startups – betahaus BNP hackathon

BNP Paribas, the leading provider of banking and financial services in Europe, is coming to Berlin and really shaking up the traditional hackathon format. Instead of the usual cash prize, the winning startups will be fed and nurtured with financial support, with the goal of their prototype becoming reality and being used by almost 100 million clients of one of the world’s largest banking groups.

WHO: BNP Paribas, the leading provider of banking and financial services in Europe + Berlin’s betahaus + the hottest startups working with products regarding fintech, e-learning, consulting, analytics, artificial intelligence, gamification, and IoT.

WHAT: BNP’s international hackathon takes place simultaneously in eight cities around the world; from San Francisco to Rome, from Berlin to Warsaw. During the event, startups will be presented with real-life challenges. They’ll have privileged access to external experts and a resources: fresh customer insights, a sandbox API, and BNP Paribas’ top experts to guide you along the way; from marketing executives to IT architects. After 36 hours, and a pitch coaching session Sunday afternoon, the teams will present to the judges.

WHY: The hackathon weekend is just the beginning of a potential partnership between the winning startup and BNP Paribas! The winning startup will be invited to take part in a Digital Bootcamp, where the team’s prototype will be fed and nurtured with financial support, and have access to BNP Paribas’ international network of experts and mentors. In stage 3, the team will fly to Paris for a Demo day to present and turn their idea in action, flanked by BNP Paribas top management and international fintech experts. If they love it, the prototype will become reality and may be used by almost 100 million clients of one of the world’s largest banking groups.
