Tech platforms. The global opportunities and the obstacles for fast growing startups.

Tech startups have an increasing impact on society. By using innovative technologies and platforms they create products, services and solutions that improve and enrich our everyday lives, whether it is about access to information, education, entertainment, or security.

From an economic perspective, the importance of tech startups businesses for economic growth and jobs creation, especially among the youth, is increasingly clear, however if you are creating an app or website, relying on various platforms is a must.

Europe is clearly lagging behind other geographical areas in terms of global startups leaders. Compared to the United States, but also to regions like Southeast Asia, fewer startups are founded by European tech founders and those that are relatively successful, very rarely grow up to become true leaders. Although yet Europe doesn’t have an app store, it had created global platforms for music such as Spotify or transportation like BlaBlaCar, and working towards new open source technology platforms.

Platforms today are more important than ever for startups. We want that startups contribute with ideas about the open discussion on platforms.
