EUROPEAN BLOCKCHAIN SERVICES INFRASTRUCTURE OPEN MARKET CONSULTATION EVENT.
The European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) is a joint initiative from the European Commission and the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP) aimed at delivering EU-wide cross-border public services using blockchain technology. This is due to the fact that Blockchain technology has massive potential to change the way citizens, governments and organisations interact through the enhancement of trust between the parties and improving operations.
As it stands, there are gaps in existing blockchain solutions that hamper the delivery of more demanding cross-border blockchain services. These include full compliance with the EU legal framework, security, interoperability, robustness and sustainability.
As such, the future evolution of the EBSI requires new, improved blockchain solutions and is looking for innovators who can design and build the next generation of Blockchain-inspired solutions through this call.
As a prelude, the EBSI and EC are hosting an open market consultation event for the upcoming European Blockchain Pre-Commercial Procurement on the 27th of April 2020.
The consultation will offer an opportunity to provide feedback on the scope of the future PCP and to be involved in the future development of EU-wide blockchain solutions.
