The Startup Scaleup Project held an event in Madrid from 26 to 30 October in order to develop businesses related with the internet of things (IoT). 14 startups from several European countries participated in this event, which was possible thanks to the sponsorship of Startup Europe, an initiative of the European Union to foster entrepreneurship in the business environment of new technologies.

The event was held during an entire week at the International Lab of Madrid, and represents the start of a program that develops acceleration simultaneously in Spain, Ireland, Lithuania and the Netherlands, with the participation of fifty business projects with innovative initiatives.

Attendees had the opportunity to be part of several workshops given by experts in Marketing, Internationalization, Internet of Things and Management.

During the next six months, startups will receive specialized assistance by experts and mentors, and will have specific software for the development of their business; they will have the possibility to contact venture capital funds also, in case they need to expand their investment.
